All Org. Meetings

Representation from student groups and organizations affiliated with the Center meet month to discuss program ideas, form collaborations on projects and receive updates on Center opportunities, programs, services, and policies.

The group meets every other Thursday at 11:00 AM in the MCC Unity Room.


Student Groups 

Allies: This group is a comfort zone group and has formed with the following intentions: to promote quality within the student and faculty bodies; to actively engage in bringing together individuals sensitive to diversity; to inform those who are in need of information about the gay, lesbian, bi-affectionate community at KU and nationwide; and foremost, to act as a zone of freedom of expression for all individuals without worries of discrimination.

Black Flame: The purpose of this organization is to allow all students to express themselves through the art of dance, as well as organizational work. These organizational works are versatile in the many forms of dance. A secondary focus is to maintain goals that will help the growth of their performance artistically and academically, as well as within their personal development. The task at hand will be strenuous preparation of the mind, reflecting on education, and appreciation of the body.

BSUBlack Student Union: The major goals of the Black Student Union are to improve race relations and to develop an understanding of and foster education of black culture campus-wide. In addition to helping new students adjust to all aspects of campus and university life, BSU also serves as a vehicle through which minority students can support one another.

Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc.: Founded in 1980, at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J., is one of the oldest Latin sororities in the United States. It is the first independent Latin founded sorority, which has grown to educate, elevate, and empower women of all ethnicities. Its charter was recognized by Kutztown University's Greek Council in 1993, making it the first minority sorority on campus. The sisterhood has united itself through its founder's ideals of open communication and community service, as well as the development of political, educational, cultural, and social awareness. The sisterhood devoted itself to this challenge, to be achieved through hard work, patience, and the collective effort to educate, as exemplified in its motto, "Wisdom through Education."

Dominican Student Association (DSA): The purpose of this group is to host and sponsor informative and social events that will aid addressing issues concerning Dominicans and other Latinos. Another purpose of this group is to concentrate its efforts on recruitment and retention of Dominican students by developing academic and personal support network for undergraduates.

FMLA: A student organization made up of dedicated individuals, both female and male, who work together to promote the advancement of women as individuals and of our society as a whole. Primarily an activist group focusing on issues such as freedom of choice, self-empowerment, gay rights, and other equality issues, Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance holds fund-raisers to donate money to charitable organizations, provides educational programming to the campus and community, and plays a major role in the planning and execution of Women's History Month.

International Student OrganizationInternational Student Organization: Anyone who is interested in learning more about cultural differences in the world today is welcome to join the International Students Organization. Boasting an active membership of approximately 50 members, ISO has celebrated International Weekend in addition to other activities for the past 20 years. International Weekend is open to the campus community as well as students from local colleges and provides a sample of international foods, customs, and traditions.

Lambda Sigma Upsilon FraternityLambda Sigma Upsilon Fraternity, Inc: Established at Rutgers University, Livingston Campus on April 5th, 1979. The twenty founders created a Latino Social Fellowship. These men decided that a Social Fellowship would best provide a support group to other students and also provide a family away from their own. Since April 5th, 1979, Lambda Sigma Upsilon has dedicated itself to preserving cultural heritage, being role models to community, promoting academic excellence, and brotherhood.

MACMinority Achievement Coalition: A student organization which believes that their mission is to be an advocate for diversity and unity on Kutztown University campus. They believe that they can further the education and growth of Kutztown students with discussions, community service, collaborations, and events. This course of action will ensure the achievement of the minority community here at Kutztown University.

Ministers of MovementMinisters of Movement: This is an organization with the mission to allow God to get praise through dance. They minister to many different people with the goal to brin them closer to the Lord through their style of praise dancing. Through this organization, they build a family-like environment where all are welcome to join and accomplish their mission.

Sigma Lambda Beta FraternitySigma Lambda Beta Fraternity: Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated was founded on April 4, 1986 at the University of Iowa, Iowa City. The organization is committed to create and expand multicultural leadership, promote academic excellence, and advance cultural awareness while influencing its mission amongst all dedicated collegiate men worldwide. With over 144 entities consisting of colonies, chapters, and alumni associations across the country and in Puerto Rico, Sigma Lambda Beta is the largest historically latino Fraternal Greek Lettered intercollegiate fraternity in America. The Zeta Delta Chapter is constantly working hard to uphold the high quality and prestigious image of the Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity. They strive to set the bar and distinguish themselves from other Greek organizations on campus and worldwide. As they work beside one another, they must remember the bond that all share and to always look toward the future. They constantly give back all that they are learning and have learned from being brothers of the most honorable fraternity and continue to make a distinction on Kutztown University's campus.

VOP Gospel ChoirVoices of Praise Gospel Choir: An organization that is food for the soul. They sing gospel music to soothe the soul, ease the mind, and have a good time. Anyone is welcome, regardless of race or creed; the only requirement is that members love to sing. There are also workshops provided to help build the repertoire and to learn special techniques that will enhance their music. Anyone who enjoys worshipping the Lord through song and praise is encouraged to become part of this organization. Not only do they just sing on college campuses, but they will also be singing at nursing homes, visiting children's homes and agencies, inviting children from the city to holiday parties, and just being a positive force on campus and off. Come and make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
