Resources for the Study of Languages, Cultures and Communication
Without language, one cannot hope to talk to people and understand them; one cannot share their hopes and aspirations, grasp their history, appreciate their history or savour their songs.
- Mandela, Nelson. (1995). Long Walk to Freedom. Boston: Little Brown & Co. p.97.
How and what you study can make all the difference. These resources will teach you language learning strategies to help you be a more effective learner.
#1 Rule: don't just go through the motions. Focus your attention and you will see greater gains for time spent.
The Language Resource Center provides materials, resources and support for the study of languages and cultures to KU students, whether students are studying the language(s) or culture(s) as part of a Kutztown University class, an on-line course from another institution or by self-directed study or private tutoring. If you have an interest in learning a language or culture, please stop by the Language Resource Center. We think you will find the environment welcoming and inclusive. And we are always happy to hear how we can better support our KU community, so if you have a request or recommendation, please let us know.
The resources available through this website are growing, so please check back frequently.
