Tenure Track Position in Secondary Education

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Secondary Education at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position beginning Fall 2014.  Requirements: The successful candidate will hold a Doctorate in an appropriate area (such as Curriculum and Instruction or Education Leadership), an instructional certificate in secondary school mathematics, and teaching experience in U.S. schools with a minimum of three years of classroom teaching in a middle level or high school setting. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate level courses in education theory and practice.  A focus on teaching diverse populations, knowledge of Common Core standards, and awareness of a variety of teaching strategies for student success are required.  The candidate must possess a clear understanding of contemporary educational issues and provide evidence of scholarship. A successful interview and demonstration of teaching abilities are required.
