These are upper-class students that live in halls that are predominately freshmen. Their main role is to assist with adjustment and transition from high school to college. They do this by providing various programming opportunities, doing one-on-one mentoring, distributing freshman information newsletters, and facilitating freshman hall meetings when needed The primary focus of this program is on promoting academic and leadership development, with attention to personal and social growth. First year students living in halls with Freshman Mentors are automatically assigned a mentor. All mentors live in the residence halls that they work in and work closely with the Housing and Residence Life staff in the planning and implementation of programs geared toward freshman students and their issues.
