Honors Freshman Orientation Program
To help incoming Honors students learn about the opportunities the Honors Program offers to enhance their undergraduate education, freshmen Honors students participate in a mandatory three-day orientation program. Every summer this program takes place the Thursday before classes begin thus granting Honors freshmen early move-in to campus. This orientation is in addition to the university-sponsored Connections Program. Some meals are provided by the Honors Program. Students will also have their meal plans activated prior to early move-in. Please note that this event is for students only. Additional information about the orientation activities will be sent to the students' university e-mail addresses as well as a letter sent to their home addresses. If you have any questions about orientation, please e-mail Mrs. Forte, Honors Program director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students who are admitted to the Honors Program are assigned upper-class Honors students as their mentors. Mentors provide valuable academic assistance and social support. They contact their mentee/s during the summer and meet with them after they arrive on campus to help orient them to the university and the Honors Program.
