The Honors Program at Kutztown University holds it's students to a high caliber of academic expectations. Students are expected to maintain a minimum of 3.25 GPA and make their academics a priority as an undergraduate student. Honors students must satisfactorily (with a final grade of "B" or better) complete 21 credits of Honors coursework, which usually equates to 7 classes. A variety of classes are offered each semester and the average Honors student takes 1-2 classes per semester in order to reach their requirement in a timely manner. These courses have a maximum of 20 students so it is always a small-classroom environment with enthusiastic professors who can take a more in-depth approach to the material.
"The Honors classes at Kutztown University aren't just about more work, they're about going in-depth with the content. The small classes create an intimate environment with the professors where the class can discuss ideas and understand the content at a deeper level than a traditional lecture hall. The quality of education that I have gained from my Honors classes has been outstanding." -Hannah Leidich, Junior in the Honors Program
