Kutztown University's Clinical Services is not an emergency care center. The staff will administer first aid and stabilize an emergency condition until ambulance personnel arrive for transport. Students are referred to a nearby hospital or emergency center for emergency medical care. A local ambulance association is called to transport students for emergency care, and the cost of this transport is the responsibility of the student. Students may purchase membership to this local ambulance association. Upon membership, emergency transportation costs provided by individual insurance coverage is accepted as full payment for service. For non-members, the ambulance association will expect full payment for services. Membership applications can be obtained by visiting Health and Wellness Services. Further ambulance transport information can be obtained by calling Kutztown Area Transport Service, Inc. at 610-683-3012.
