Accessible Meetings, Events, and Programs
Meetings, events, programs, and activities that are open to the public or the Kutztown University campus community must be held in an accessible location. There may be attendees who need reasonable accommodation. To address the need for additional accommodations, the sponsor of an event, meeting, or program will include on the promotional and invitational material a statement that asks for special needs to be made known ahead of time in order to allow a reasonable accommodation. To view a sample statement and some typical accommodations, read the Accessible Meetings, Events, Programs Policy.
Services for Students with Disabilities
To meet the needs of enrolled students with disabilities and to comply with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title II, 1990, and the ADA amendments of 2008, Kutztown University will provide reasonable accommodations for classes and residence halls in order to allow equal access. The goal of the university is to provide the education necessary for qualified students with disabilities to function as self-sustaining individuals.
Reasonable Accommodations for Employees
The purpose of this policy is to provide managers, supervisors, and department chairs a procedure for responding to accommodations requested by applicants or those persons presently employed with a disability.
This policy also prohibits any employment actions or decisions which could adversely impact upon or deny the benefits, compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment to any qualified individual(s) solely by reason of that person's disability or the disabilities of any person who is related to or associated with an employee or applicant.

Course Substitution Process/Procedure
Course substitutions will only be granted in cases where the request does not constitute a fundamental alteration in the nature of the program or when the academic requirement(s) is not essential to the program of study or to meet licensing or certification requirements.
