Career development is a journey and the Career Development Center is here to help you define your career goals (destination) and take the steps necessary to achieve those goals (route).
We can help you:
- Decide/confirm your choice of major/minor
- Explore and research career options
- Gain experience through externships (job shadowing), volunteer work, and internships
- Develop workplace etiquette and a personal brand
- Conduct a job search including resume and cover letter writing and interview preparation
- Prepare for graduate school

You are welcome to stop by the center (Stratton 113) Monday-Friday from 2-4pm for quick questions, no appointment required.
Individual Career Counseling/Coaching
Individual career counseling/coaching is available to help you: choose a major, define a career path, research career options, begin an internship or job search, target employers in a specific industry, or pursue further education. Resume and Cover Letter Review Service
An up-to-date resume and professional cover letter are important in every job search. Do you need help getting started? Click here to review tips and strategies for creating your resume and cover letter and see examples of format/content that employers expect. Email your final drafts to email@example.com to have them reviewed by a staff member. The turnaround time for this service may take up to 7-10 business days depending on current volume. Another option is to stop by during Quick-Question/Walk-in Hours (Mon.-Fri. 2-4pm) to have your document reviewed by a staff member in person. PLEASE BE AWARE: Students are limited to two reviews per calendar year per document. Prepare and proofread carefully prior to submitting your documents for review. Making a good first impression is essential for a strong and successful interview. KUCN provides the opportunity for you to practice interviewing using your webcam and microphone. Record your practice interview and submit it to the Career Development Center (firstname.lastname@example.org) to have it reviewed by a staff member. Please keep in mind that the turnaround time for this service varies depending on current volume.
