College of Business
Welcome to the College of Business website!
The College of Business has two departments with each department delivering separate degree programs. The Department of Business Administration offers a B.S.B.A. with majors in accounting, finance, management, and marketing and an M.B.A. The Department of Sport Management and Leadership Studies delivers a B.S. in Leisure and Sport Studies. The study of business in KU's Department of Business Administration is a stimulating intellectual experience and a practical introduction to all careers that require the managerial and analytical skills that are in demand in today's dynamic, global environment. To compliment our major fields of study, we offer minors in economics and advertising.
We encourage our students to pursue internships. They also have the opportunity to work with our award winning Small Business Development Center. These activities give our students windows into the business world and exposure to the environment and challenges they will face after graduation.
The Department of Sport Management and Leadership Studies offers areas of study leading to careers in athletic coaching, athletic administration, sport-related business, and the fitness industry. Additionally, the department offers a selection of courses designed to assist a student in exploring a variety of lifelong recreational activities and developing knowledge and skills contributing to sensible health and lifestyle decisions.
Our greatest strength is our outstanding faculty who are totally dedicated to student success. Our faculty bring the business world to the classroom through their affiliations and contacts with businesses and professional organizations, consulting, attendance at professional and academic conferences, and scholarly research.
Our alumni and alumnae can be found in prominent positions in organizations, large and small, around the globe.
We sponsor a number of student organizations and encourage student participation in professional organizations to develop their leadership and social skills and to help them start building the network that will accompany them into their chosen careers.
On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of the College of Business, I invite you to explore the various programs and services that we offer.
